OnlyFans verification is the age and identity check every creator has to pass before posting anything. You submit a valid government photo ID, two selfies (one holding the ID), your legal details and your bank and tax information, and a review team approves or rejects the application. OnlyFans does not publish a review time, many rejections come from fixable problems such as unclear photos or expired documents, and the checks continue after approval.
In short
- Verification is a condition for posting, open to anyone 18 or older in a country where OnlyFans can pay out.
- You need at least nine pieces of identifying information, including a government photo ID and two selfies.
- OnlyFans names the common rejection reasons itself: poor selfies, poor ID photos, expired or damaged documents, an unsupported payout country, private social media accounts.
- Anyone else who appears in explicit content with you has to be verified too.
- Approved creator accounts face repeat selfie checks on a rolling 45-day cycle.
What OnlyFans verification actually checks
OnlyFans verification confirms two things: that you are at least 18, and that the person running the account is the person on the documents. It is the gate to a creator account, not a badge for popular profiles, and no creator posts before passing it.
The platform's age and identity verification page describes a combination of technology and human moderation, with a dedicated team that reviews each application and approves or rejects it. Third-party verification tools are part of that process. The same page states that OnlyFans collects this information only to keep the community safe and does not sell it or use it for anything else.
If you want the order of everything from setup to the first month, the guide on how to start OnlyFans puts verification in context. The sign-up itself, from fan account to creator account, is covered in how to create an OnlyFans account.
Who can get verified
OnlyFans verification is open to anyone who is at least 18, lives in a country where OnlyFans can make payouts, and has not previously lost an account for breaking the Terms of Service. Those are the conditions its Help Center lists for being unable to open a creator account.
The payout rule is the one that surprises people. The list of supported countries appears in the Add Bank section of your profile once you have a fan account, and the Help Center says it is updated regularly, so a country that is missing today may be added later.
The documents you need
OnlyFans verification asks for at least nine pieces of personally identifying information before you can post. OnlyFans lists them on its verification page, and the Terms of Service add that you may be asked for more at any time.
| What OnlyFans asks for | What it means in practice | Where applications go wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Full name and date of birth | Entered exactly as they appear on your ID | Nicknames, missing middle names, a different spelling |
| Verified email address | An address you can access long term | An address you later lose access to |
| Postal address | Your residential address | An address in a country without payout support |
| Valid government photo ID | ID card, driver's license or passport | Expired, damaged or cropped documents |
| Standalone selfie | A clear photo of your face | Dark rooms, filters, heavy shadows |
| Selfie holding your photo ID | You and the ID in one photo, both readable | ID too small or blurred to read |
| Social media account handles | Your existing public accounts | Accounts set to private |
| Bank account information | Where your earnings are paid out | Missing or incomplete payout details |
| Tax information | As required where you live, a W-9 form for US creators | Missing or incomplete forms |
The OnlyFans Creator Center asks for one clear photo of your ID and one of you holding it. Take both in good light with the whole document in frame, and type your details character for character.
If handing over this much information worries you, our guide to anonymous OnlyFans draws the line between what OnlyFans knows and what fans can see. Fans see your display name, never the documents.
How to get verified on OnlyFans, step by step
Once you have a fan account, verification takes one sitting if your documents are ready.
- Open the creator onboarding from your profile settings and select your country of residence. If it is not on the list, you cannot continue for now.
- Enter your legal details exactly as they are printed on your ID.
- Add your bank account or payout method and, where required, your tax information.
- Upload a clear photo of your ID, then a photo of you holding the same ID.
- Add your social media handles and check that those accounts are public.
- Submit and wait for the approval email.
How long does it take to get approved?
There is no official review time for OnlyFans verification, and none of the platform's help, terms or transparency pages names one. OnlyFans does say that you receive an approval email when the review is done, and that a team combining human judgment with in-house and third-party tools handles each application.
Treat any fixed number you read elsewhere as someone's experience rather than a platform rule. The wait depends on the queue and on whether your submission needs a second look, and an application with a blurred ID photo takes longer for the simple reason that it comes back to you. While you wait, the Creator Center suggests reading the content moderation policies and learning the creator features.
Why OnlyFans rejects verification
Many rejected applications fail for reasons you can fix and resubmit. The Help Center lists the common reasons for a rejected creator application directly, and the transparency report adds that the support team works with applicants on rejections that can be rectified, naming unclear ID photos and missing social media handles as examples.
If OnlyFans rejected your application, match the reason against this table first.
| Reason OnlyFans gives | What it usually means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Poor quality selfies | Face unclear, too dark, filtered or partly covered | Retake in daylight, no filter, face fully visible |
| Poor quality photos of your ID | Text unreadable, glare, corners cut off | Photograph the whole document flat, in even light |
| Expired, invalid or damaged ID | The document itself fails the check | Use a different valid ID or renew the one you have |
| Payouts not possible in your country | Your country of residence is not supported | Nothing to fix now; check the Add Bank list again later |
| Social media accounts set to private | The review could not view the handles you gave | Set the accounts to public, then resubmit |
The Terms of Service also allow OnlyFans to reject an application for any reason, and the Help Center repeats that it may do so at any time. If none of the reasons above fits, that is the case you take to support.
What to do after a rejection
A rejected OnlyFans verification is often not final. Fix the specific reason and resubmit through the same account instead of starting over.
Start from what the rejection message names. Retake only the photos that need it, check every field against your ID again, and make your social accounts public if they were not. If the reason is unclear or you believe the decision is wrong, contact OnlyFans support through the contact form on its site and ask what needs to change.
Workarounds make a rejection worse. The Terms require a valid ID and photos of you, and they do not let you transfer your rights under the agreement to anyone else. A borrowed ID or a bought, already verified account therefore puts your earnings in someone else's name, and anyone who previously broke the Terms cannot open a creator account at all.
Verification for co-performers and collaborators
Anyone who appears with you in explicit content has to be verified as well, and that content only goes live once they are. OnlyFans' Help Center on posting content featuring someone else requires you to show that each person is over 18, has consented to the content being shared on OnlyFans and has agreed to its Terms of Service.
| Your collaborator | How they are verified | When the content goes live |
|---|---|---|
| A verified OnlyFans creator | You tag them with their @username in the post | After OnlyFans confirms the tagged creator matches the person in the content |
| Not on OnlyFans, no wish for an account | You send them an invitation link from the release forms page; they verify age and identity and accept the Terms | After their verification is complete and checked by the team |
| Someone you work with regularly | The Creator Center suggests they open their own creator account, which they can set to private | As with any tagged creator |
There are limits beyond the check itself. If an account features other creators, most of its content must still feature the creator who opened it. The Terms add that anyone appearing in co-authored content can withdraw consent later, and that content may then be deleted. Agree on this with any collaborator before the post is live.
Verification continues after approval
Approval is not the end of OnlyFans verification. The platform states that all creator accounts are subject to secondary selfie checks on a rolling 45-day cycle, with further cross-checks on top and more in high-risk jurisdictions or on flagged accounts.
If a creator fails a selfie check, the account cannot be accessed and its content is removed from view while moderators review it. Possible outcomes include a request for further ID documents, a suspension, a termination or an IP ban. If the issue is resolved, the account is fully reinstated.
This matters for anyone who works with a team. The person who passes the selfie check has to be you every time, because OnlyFans re-checks that the account user matches the information given at sign-up. The Terms also state that OnlyFans' relationship is with the creator and not with any third party who helps run the account.
How MAXMO handles verification
MAXMO Management focuses on creators whose OnlyFans page is already running, and in individual cases we also support the start and the verification phase with guidance through the steps and a checklist of the documents you need. The verification itself is always yours, done with your own ID: OnlyFans allows nobody to verify for someone else, and we would never ask you to.
When we start working together, you grant us access yourself, in the way you choose. Your profile email, two-factor authentication and payout details stay exclusively with you, which also means the selfie checks stay with you. We sign a confidentiality agreement with every creator, and your content rights stay 100 percent with you. The five areas we take over once an account is live are on our services page.
If you are still at the verification stage, tell us where you stand and we will look at what support fits; you get a reply within 48 hours. Whether starting is right for you at all is a separate question, answered in should I start an OnlyFans. If your account is already running, you can see what our creators' accounts look like in our case studies and find shorter answers on our homepage.
